OCEAN LIFE (SEA CREATURES)
LESSON PLAN
Component : Language and Communication
Theme : Ocean Life
Topic : Sea Creatures
Learning Outcome : 1.3.1 Identifies sea creatures named in the ocean.
Objective : Children can identify and name the sea creatures in the ocean.
Tools : Multimedia tools
Children’s Prior Knowledge : Children know how to use computers appliances and understand the intructions in the computer.
Set Induction
1. Show video in the blog (with teacher guidance)
2. Ask the children a few question about the objects in the video
Q : Do you have seen all these sea creatures before?
A : Yes or No
Q : What types of sea creatures that we can see in this video?
A : Turtle, Fish, Squid
Q : Can you name others sea creatures that you know, which is not shown in this video?
A : Oyster, Starfish, Crab
Activity 1 (with teacher's guidance)
1. Teacher asks the children to click at the picture which is show in the blog.
2. Children click at the picture.
3. The picture will link to the other web site that will give more information about the picture (for example: Fish).
4. Children have an option to gather more information about other sea creatures by returning to the blog and click the others picture.
Activity 2 (with teacher's guidance)
1. Teacher ask children to do "What am I?" activity in the blog to know how much children can identify sea creatures in the ocean.
2. When children click at the picture in "What am I?" activity , children automatically will be linked to the related web sites.
3. Then, children will be guided to do coloring activities.
4. Children can choose either virtual or fill-in coloring activities.
5. When children click at the picture, it will link to the related web sites.
Activity 3(with teacher's guidance)
1. There are two types of sea creatures’ picture.
2. Children also can choose either to play with six or twelve pieces of jigsaw puzzle.
3. Just click and it will link to the related web sites.
Closure
1. Sing a song together. (Fishes, fishes where are you)
2. Children can sing by following the karaoke version.
